Video Description

mHealth is a shortening of “mobile health,” and encompasses not only telehealth — which is the interaction between clinicians and patients (or among clinicians) — but also “self management,” including smartphone apps and computer programs that people use as sports and fitness aids. In this sense, mHealth often focuses on self-care, helping consumers capture data for themselves, often without the involvement of clinicians. “Mobile shopping, mobile banking, these are all things that have gone mobile over the course of the last decade,” says Marcus Grindstaff, COO for Care Innovations®. “So think of mHealth as that same thing for healthcare.”
